A Pelham House Wedding
Shooting a Pelham House wedding has always been on my bucket list since moving to Sussex – and Cass & Sharon’s wedding certainly didn’t disappoint!
Pelham House is located just off the main High Street in Lewes. It’s tucked away down a little lane and it would be very easy to walk through Lewes and never know it’s there. Initially a Georgian townhouse, it served as Council Offices for a number of years until a major refurbishment turned it into the luxurious wedding venue it is today. There is something of a ‘TARDIS’ feel to the venue with a deceptively large amount of space. Any Pelham House wedding will benefit from well thought out, spacious rooms and a beautiful garden. There’s a separate ceremony room and function room which is always a bonus plus a large bar area where guests can relax and mingle. The décor, staff and facilities really do make this an great choice for anyone looking for a chic and stylish wedding venue.
Cass and Sharon’s Pelham House wedding was initially planned some years ago before lockdown struck. It seemed a very long time ago that we met at Brighton sea front for their pre-wedding shoot. I hadn’t realised Cass had a twin sister and, given the time that had passed, there was scope for them to prank me but thankfully that never happened! There was a very chilled vibe on the day with the two brides getting ready in a separate block to the main house giving them privacy and time together before the formalities got underway. The preparation area, and indeed the whole of the venue, had lots of windows and natural light making for some great photographs.
The day went off without a hitch and the weather gods smiled on us. This meant full use could be made of the gorgeous grounds for photos, kids to run around and guests to get some fresh air and stretch their legs. I must make special mention of the food which was some of the best I have ever had a wedding so hats off to the chef and staff.
So my first Pelham House wedding was everything I had hoped it would be. Cass & Sharon were brilliant throughout the day and it certainly looked like everyone had a great time. The staff at the venue were fantastic and certainly made it the perfect day it was.
